Privacy Policy
FlyScout is made by Apptractor and collects as little as it can. There is no sign-in: each install gets an anonymous id with nothing about you in it. Effective 15 October 2026.
On this phone
Your settings, filters and alerts stay in the app on this phone.
Your anonymous id
Firebase Authentication (Google) gives each install an anonymous id. It holds no name, email address or phone number. Under it, FlyScout's backend keeps your alerts while Alerts is on in Settings, and RevenueCat keeps your FlyScout Pro purchase.
Your location
FlyScout uses your location only when you ask for something near you. Flights near you are asked for by the wide area around you; your position stays on this phone. The radar sends the point it is centred on to FlyScout's backend, which does not keep it. An alert near you keeps the place and the distance you set.
Alerts
While Alerts is on in Settings, your alerts and this phone's notification token are kept under your anonymous id, so FlyScout can tell you when a flight matches. Notifications are delivered by Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) and, on an iPhone, by Apple. Turning Alerts off in Settings deletes both from FlyScout's servers; your alerts stay on this phone.
FlyScout Pro
FlyScout Pro is bought through the App Store or Google Play, which take the payment; FlyScout never sees your payment details. RevenueCat, which manages the subscription, receives the store's record of your purchase with your anonymous id. Apple, Google and RevenueCat handle it under their own privacy policies.
Services FlyScout uses
FlyScout's backend runs on Google Firebase, which also checks that requests come from a genuine copy of the app. Aircraft photos are loaded by your phone from Planespotters.net, which sees your network address and the aircraft asked about. Maps come from Mapbox, which receives the map requests and anonymous usage data. If the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics (Google) receives a report with the phone's model, its system version and an install id. The app and flyscout.app use analytics only to see how they perform and to keep them working: what is opened and how it runs, the device's model and system, and a rough region, never anything that names you, and never for advertising.
Removing your data
Deleting the app removes what it kept on this phone. Turning Alerts off in Settings deletes your alerts and notification token from FlyScout's servers at once; if you delete the app instead, they are deleted within a year. Purchase records stay with the store and RevenueCat as the law requires.
